EEE Lab

At VU in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department a student will not only learn the theory behind engineering but also get training to look at the practical application of that theory in the laboratory as well as in the practical field.

Students study the fundamentals of electrical engineering including electrical circuits, energy conversions, control theory, power systems & networks; electronic engineering including electronics, microprocessors; communication engineering which includes communication theory, electromagnetics, signal processing and related fields of engineering and computer engineering. Students learn how to design, construct and test electrical or electronic devices and systems in their own laboratory.

Electronics Lab

Course Code: EEE 132

Course Title: Electronics II Lab

Objective:

The main purpose of this lab is to study the operation of different types of amplifiers, comparators, level detectors, calculation of output and gain and observe the input and output characteristics.

Experiments performed:

  • Study of an inverting amplifier.
  • Study of a non-inverting amplifier.
  • Study of an integrator circuit.
  • Study of a differentiator  circuit.
  • Study of an inverting comparator circuit.
  • Study of a non-inverting comparator circuit.
  • Study of the output characteristics of NPN transistor for common emitter configuration.

Equipments:

  • OP-AMP - 741
  • Project board.
  • Resistor- 2.2K, 10K
  • Capacitor- 1.1µF, 10µF
  • Multimeter.
  • Cathode Ray Oscilloscope.
  • Function Generator.
  • CRO probes and input probes.
  • Connecting wires.

Electrical and Electronic Measurement Lab.

Course Code: EEE 314

Course title: Electrical and Electronic Measurement Lab.

Objective:

The main objective of this course is to study different techniques of measurement of resistance, measurement of power, study the operations and range extension of ammeter, voltmeter, study the operations  of C.T. and P.T. and measurement of their transformation ratio.

Experiments Performed:

  • Measurement of medium resistance using Ammeter-Voltmeter method.
  • Measurement of power.
  •  Extension of Ammeter range using shunt.
  • Extension of Voltmeter range using series resistance.
  • Measurement of a turns ratio of a Current Transformer (C.T.)
  • Measurement of a turns ratio of a Potential Transformer (P.T.)

  • Resistor- 50Ω, 300Ω, 500KΩ
  • Ammeter (50mA, 500mA,1A)
  • Voltmeter (100V, 150V, 300V)
  • Wattmeter (1A, 5A, 120V, 240V)
