Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Varendra University!

Varendra University is at the forefront of higher education in Northern Bangladesh and is the first and leading private university in the northern region of the country approved by the government and the University Grants Commission (UGC). Varendra University started its academic journey in September 2012. The fundamental goal of Varendra University is to give quality advanced education to the students by experienced and reputed academics in order to produce skilled human resources needed for the social and economic development of Bangladesh.

Computer Science and Engineering is at the intellectual vanguard of the digital revolution that will define the 21st century. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the most prominent departments of Varendra University both in the number of students and future prospects of students, which can clearly be observed from the career path of the alumni. The department prides itself with the largest academic team among the departments of the university of capable faculty members who not only serve to educate the students but also guide and counsel them in their endeavors. The students are provided modern computer and electronics labs to enrich their practical knowledge alongside the theoretical knowledge. There are three professional labs dedicated to competitive programming, web development and robotics which aim to get students job ready so they may proceed to procure jobs in the industry right after their graduation. The department provides an outstanding opportunity to the students to get quality education in Computer Science and Engineering. We are very proud of our graduates and their accomplishments; they are highly skilled IT professionals who pursue successful careers in a wide range of contexts in the competitive global job market. The mission of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is to explore new frontiers of Science Engineering and Technology through academic search and development. Our vision is to achieve highest excellency in academic programs in the field of CSE. The main target of the department is to produce graduates of global standards by providing them with modern and latest instructions in science and technology. We are also aiming at preparing our students for advanced research and learning so that they can disseminate the skill & knowledge they have acquired. I will be happy to see this department and university grow as a prestigious seat of learning in the future.
