The Department of English, Varendra University, Welcomes Susan Mast, English Language Fellow (ELF) for the 2023-24 Academic Year

The Department of English, Varendra University, is delighted to host an English Language Fellow (ELF) for the 2023-24 academic year. It is our absolute privilege to introduce Susan Mast who has started her fellowship at VU on 30 August, 2023.    

Susan Mast earned an MA in General Linguistics, an MA in East Asian Linguistics, and a BA in English and Biology; she also hold a TESOL certificate. She has taught in the United States for almost five years in a refugee program and as a graduate assistant and student teacher. She additionally taught for two years in a Japanese university, six months in a Chinese university, and one year in Poland at a veterinary institute. Along with those experiences, she served as a volunteer teacher in a high school in Brazil for a month. She also has experience as a Japanese and Chinese translator and as a substitute teacher. She has taught with technologies such as with Zoom, Schoology, Google Classroom, Google Drive, Filemaker, and various online activity tools such as Flipgrid, Jamboard, Canva, Padlet, Quizlet, Kahoot, and Google Docs, and Slides.

The orientation session with Susan Mast took place at the Department of English, VU. Present in this initial meeting, were Prof. Md.
