On 14th, March, 2024 Department of Pharmacy at Varendra University recently organized a seminar titled "Kidney Health For All: Advancing Equitable Access to Care & Optimal Medication Practice."
The event, held at the Senate Hall, welcomed esteemed guests including Chief guest Prof Dr. Ananda Kumar Saha, Acting Vice Chancellor, and Pro Vice Chancellor, along with special guests Dr. Md. Faizar Rahman, Honorable Treasurer, and Suranjit Mondal, Honorable Registrar.
Dr. Samina Sharmin, Assistant Professor at Islami Bank Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi, served as the keynote speaker, delivering a comprehensive discourse on kidney disease and prevention. She illuminates the multifaceted landscape of kidney disease, exploring its myriad risks, intricate causes, and indispensable prevention methods. She also told that how lifestyle choices, genetic predispositions, and environmental factors intertwine to shape our renal destiny. Additionally, early detection and proactive intervention are our strongest allies in the battle for kidney wellness.
Monalisa Monwar, Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Pharmacy, presided over the seminar. The audience comprised students and esteemed faculty members. Noteworthy speeches were delivered by the chief guest, special guests, and seminar chair.
Additionally, a poster presentation competition engaged students, with the top three posters recognized and awarded. The event concluded with Head of the Department Monalisa Monwar expressing gratitude to Dr. Samina Sharmin and presenting her with a crest.
