Visit of the Tanapara Swallows and a Japanese Research Scholar Maduka at the Department of Political Science, Varendra University

Yesterday on June 12, 2024, the Department of Political Science, Varendra University is building a relationship with a Non-Governmental Organization in the Northern Region, Thanapara Swallows which has been making excellence for quite while from soon after independence. It is serving and developing society in the truest sense. Prioritizing the great sacrifice of the Liberation War of 1971, the NGO is working to create the conditions of destitute women in the rural region. It also produces and exports the highest quality apparel using truly organic materials. Apart from that, students from Japan and other developed countries often complete their internships under their supervision. The Department of Political Science, Varendra University is foreseeing an opportunity to work collaboratively with them.

The discussion occurred between the honourable head of the department Prof. Dr. Md. Habibullah and the great war hero and the Executive Director of Thanapara Swallows, Raihan Ali along with Assistant Director Mahmuuda Begum Guinea. In the discussion, Maduka, a Japanese Citizen was also present and explained the potentiality of Japanese students enrolling in Varendra University. Both of the parties have seen the future of the relationship between the Department and the NGO.

After a fruitful discussion, the honourable head of the department handed over a token of thanks and then the guests were taken to a short visit to the campus. After visiting the state-of-the-earth infrastructure the guests were amazed and expected to pay a regular visit both formally and informally.
