Department of Business Administration of Varendra University participated in the “Inter-University Business Plan Competition (IUBPC)-2017” at East West University, Dhaka from 26th February to 28th February, 2017. The inaugural ceremony of the competition held on 26th February, 2017. Honorable Minister Mr. Tofail Ahmed M.P., Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the ceremony as the chief guest. A total 89 teams from 23 different public and private universities registered in this Competition.
A team consisting of three members (Arfan Tanvir Hasan, Bayjid Bostame & Md. Shakib Islam students in 8th semester) from department of Business Administration, VU submitted their business plan namely Varendra Stevia Sugar (VSS) which was accepted and qualified to 2nd round for presentation. Md. Tota Miah, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration, Varendra University, was the mentor of this team and provided necessary instructions to pursue success.
Our achievements
1. Acceptance of business plan as innovative one by a panel of juries.
2. Varendra Stevia Sugar (VSS) got an opportunity to attend a workshop on how to write a business plan and how to give a good presentation delivered by a noted speaker of North South University, Dhaka.
3. 15 teams were qualified for 2nd round (10 minutes presentation and 5 minutes questions and answers sessions) among 89 teams participated from 23 reputed public and private universities across the country. Varendra Stevia Sugar (VSS) is one of them.
4. Though they did not manage to qualify for final round, they had a great appreciation from the juries because it was the only team from private universities outside the Dhaka city. Overall it was a good experience gathered by the students.
