Workshop on ‘Understanding and Addressing Outcome Based Education (OBE)’–EEE

A workshop on ‘Understanding and Addressing Outcome Based Education (OBE)’ organized by the department of EEE, Varendra University, was held at Room no. 304 Engineering Building,on Thursday (25th April, 2019). 
OBE is an educational process that is focused at achieving certain specified outcomes for the graduate students. For this system the desired outcome selected first then the curriculum, instructional materials, assessments etc. are created to support and achieve the intended outcome.
All the faculty members of department of EEE and few faculty members from CSE department participated in this workshop. The objective of the workshop was to introduce the various concepts and components of outcome based education to the participating faculty members.


The workshop on Understanding and Addressing OBE was conducted by Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Associate Professor and Former Head, Associate Director, Green Energy Research Center, Dept. Of EEE, Independent University, Bangladesh.He explained the OBE system in details with examples Program Education Objective (PEO), Program Outcome (PO), Mapping and Writing Course Outcomes (COs) according to BLOOM’S TAXONOMY.


The workshop was ended by distribution of snacks among the participants and closing remarks of Prof. Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam Mondal, Head, Department of EEE,Varendra University. The successful event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. M. Sayeedur Rahman Khan (Adviser, Varendra University, and Former Vice Chancellor Rajshahi University & Former High Commissioner of Bangladesh to UK).
