The politics of Bangladesh has witnessed a number of events where the constitutionalism was hampered. These events had not only disregarded the constitution on many instances but also allegedly ventured to cause severe deformity inside the constitution itself. While discussing these events shorly, this literature, in its first part, tries to answer the following questions- 1. How did the constitution of Bangladesh show resilience during these events? 2. What was the nature of this resilience? Were these instances of resilience spontaneous? Therefore, this part focuses on the historical presence of constitutional resilience in Bangladesh. Then, in the second part, this literature tries to look through the present constitution of Bangladesh and tries to analyze the relevant provisions with a view to examining the present capacity of this constitution to show resilience against the possible threats to constitutionalism.
