Abstract
Child marriage is a violation of human rights. It has physical, intellectual,
psychological and emotional implications for the young brides. It denies young
girls their childhood and adolescence. It continues to be
a strong social norm, particularly for girls, in much of the developing countries
including Bangladesh. Early female marriage is associated with a number of poor
social psychological and structural outcomes. Child marriage is a global issue but
rates vary dramatically, both within and between countries
