Abstract
In early 2023, Varendra University began implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) to transition from rote learning to competency-based education. This research examines undergraduate students' understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles and their assessments of its effectiveness in shaping their academic experiences. A standardized survey was conducted across multiple disciplines to evaluate both quantitative and qualitative responses, examining the clarity of learning outcomes, the alignment of assessments, and overall student satisfaction. The results show that most students like OBE because it makes learning more organized and useful. A lot of people say it helps them get ready for work and think critically. Some students, on the other hand, said that there were gaps between what they wanted to learn and what they actually learned. This showed that we needed clearer learning goals, more open grading rubrics, and more help with finding resources. In conclusion, while OBE implementation shows encouraging progress with active faculty involvement, its long-term success depends on bridging skill gaps, enhancing institutional support, and ensuring fairness and clarity in assessment practices.
