The Department of Pharmacy, Varendra University, successfully organized an industrial visit to Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC with the 19th Batch of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) program.
The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, familiarize them with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance standards, and bridge their theoretical knowledge with real-world industrial applications. Students also gained valuable insights into quality control systems, formulation techniques, and professional ethics vital to the modern pharmaceutical industry.
The journey began on 7 November 2025, with the factory visit taking place the following morning. Students were warmly received by the officials of Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC and attended an insightful presentation by Md. Abrar Elahi Khan (Tareq), Senior Manager (R&D). They explored the Cephalosporin Unit, Sterile Manufacturing Zone, Clean Room Facility, and QC Laboratory, gaining hands-on exposure to the complete production process — from formulation to packaging and testing.
The Department of Pharmacy expresses heartfelt gratitude to Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC for their generous cooperation and hospitality in making this event a great success.
