The final match and closing ceremony of the inter-semester cricket tournament, “English Department Premier League 2026 (Season-9)” (EDPL 2026 Season-9) was successfully organized by the Department of English at Varendra University. The tournament was conducted with the participation of students from different batches and semesters of the department, creating a competitive and vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.

 Following the completion of the tournament stages, the final match was played between two strong teams, “OLYMPIANS” and “TRIBUS-33.” After an exciting and competitive contest, “OLYMPIANS” emerged as the champions of the tournament, while “TRIBUS-33” secured the position of runners-up.

The prize-giving and closing ceremony was held after the final match. The event was attended by faculty members and students of the Department of English. During the ceremony, the guests highlighted the importance of such sporting events in fostering teamwork, leadership skills, and stronger relationships among students.

It is worth mentioning that English Language Club and Pixels Computer served as supporting partners of the tournament and contributed to the successful execution of the event.

During the ceremony, honorary crests were presented to members of the executive committee in recognition of their contributions to the tournament. In addition, awards including “Man of the Final,” “Best Batter,” “Best Bowler,” and “Man of the Tournament” were presented to the players for their outstanding performances.

Finally, medals and trophies were awarded to the players of “OLYMPIANS,” the champions of EDPL 2026 (Season-9), and “TRIBUS-33,” the runners-up.

The event not only promoted sportsmanship among the students of the Department of English but also strengthened mutual bonding and created memorable experiences for all participants.
