On 30 August 2026, around 50 students from the Department of Economics at Varendra University visited PRAN Agro Ltd. at Ekdala, Narayanpara, Natore, as part of their co-curricular and academic activities. The visit aimed to provide a real-life exposure to BSS final-year and Master's students of the operation and management of a specialized industry. The students were accompanied by four faculty members of the Department of Economics.
During this visit, firstly, students were introduced to the PRAN Agro Ltd. by its HR Deputy Manager and a Management Trainee Officer, they briefed the students about the organization’s institutional structure, objectives, activities, achievements, available resources, and operational challenges. Thereby, students visited different sections of the factory and observed its activities firsthand. Finally, the programme concluded with an interactive Q & A session, conducted by the HR Manager of the PRAN Agro Ltd., allowing students to discuss various aspects of industrial operations.
The Department of Economics has been consistently giving special importance to practical learning along with classroom teaching. The department expects that such industrial visit will enable students to gain a better understanding of industrial management, industrial resource utilization, productivity, and the role of industries in economic development.
