On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Department of Business Administration of Varendra University, in collaboration with the Business Administration Career Club (BACC), organized an insightful seminar titled “Future Prospect of Tourism in Bangladesh and Career Opportunities for the Students.”
The event was graced by Ms. Nuzhat Yasmin, CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board & Additional Secretary, as Chief Guest, along with Mst. Saleha Binte Siraj, Director (Joint Secretary), Tourism Board, and Mr. Saju Sardar, Assistant Professor, University of Rajshahi, as Guest Speakers.
Speakers discussed the rapid growth and career potential of Bangladesh’s tourism sector, emphasizing its role in job creation and sustainable economic development. Dr. Kaniz Habiba Afrin, Head of the Department, announced that the University is going to establish the Tourism & Hospitality Department and will apply for UGC approval soon, which will open new doors for students’ bright futures.
As part of the “Festival of Youth in Tourism 2025” organized by the Bangladesh Tourism Board and supported by the Business Administration Career Club (BACC), a special “Tourism Ludo Competition” was also held during the program. A total of 40 participants from five higher education institutions of Rajshahi district took part in this unique competition. The specially designed Ludo board featured 100 tourism destinations of Bangladesh, aiming to spread awareness about the country’s heritage and encourage sustainable and responsible tourism practices. After two exciting rounds, five participants were selected as winners, who will later receive awards at the district-level Festival of Youth in Tourism celebration.
The event was attended by the Honorable Coordinator Sir, Registrar Sir, and respected faculty members. The entire program was coordinated by Ms. Sadikatul Mawa Momo, Moderator of BACC, with the active participation of all club members.
This successful initiative reflected Varendra University’s commitment to experiential learning, industry collaboration, and the empowerment of students through leadership, creativity, and practical engagement in Bangladesh’s growing tourism industry.
