The Department of Pharmacy of Varendra University, Rajshahi, organized an insightful industrial tour to Sun Pharmaceutical (Bangladesh) Ltd., providing students from the 17th and 18th batches with an invaluable learning experience. The group was accompanied by esteemed faculty members Abir Hasan and Abu Naser Md. Nayeem, who supported the students throughout the visit.

The tour began with a warm welcome from Sun Pharmaceutical’s team, who greeted the visitors with flowers and introduced them to the facility’s high-tech manufacturing units and rigorous quality control systems. Students received an in-depth tour of various departments, including the raw material preparation, formulation, and packaging units. This comprehensive tour allowed them to witness each stage of pharmaceutical production, from initial compound mixing to the final packaging and labeling of medicines.

During the tour, the Sun Pharmaceutical team provided detailed explanations of the technology and processes used to ensure product efficacy, safety, and compliance with both national and international pharmaceutical standards. The students observed sophisticated machinery, such as automated mixing tanks, tablet compression and coating machines, capsule filling machines, and blister packaging lines. They also gained insight into the critical role of quality assurance protocols, including batch sampling, analytical testing, and regulatory documentation, which are essential for maintaining product standards and ensuring patient safety.

A brief seminar followed, where Sun Pharmaceutical's experts discussed the challenges and responsibilities faced by pharmacists in the industry. They emphasized the critical role pharmacists play in ensuring quality and innovation in drug manufacturing. Additionally, they provided insights into potential career opportunities, including paid internships, at Sun Pharmaceutical. As a gesture of appreciation for this valuable educational experience, Varendra University and the Department of Pharmacy presented a token of appreciation to the company.
