The Department of Sociology and Sociology Club organized a significant event on 12th December, 2024, at Senate Hall, Varendra University combining Freshers' reception of 1st semester students, graduation completion of 9th and 10th semester students, and Master's farewell ceremony.

The ceremony began with the welcoming of the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Ananda Kumar Saha, Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) of Varendra University. Special Guests included Professor Dr. Md. Faizar Rahman, Treasurer, Varendra University, Professor Md. Shahidur Rahman, Dean, School of Social Science and Arts. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Coordinator, Department of Sociology, Varendra University.

Following the inaugural declaration and welcome speech, freshers were warmly received by the department. Then crests were given to the graduating students marking there transition from students to alumni.

The ceremony continued with heartfelt expressions from both freshers and graduating students, who shared their experiences and reflections on their academic journeys. Faculty members then delivered inspiring speeches, offering words of wisdom and encouragement to the students. Special guests also addressed the audience, adding significant gravitas to the proceedings with their insightful remarks.

The event concluded with closing remarks and a photo session, capturing the memorable moments and celebrating the success of the day's program. The gathering was enriched by the presence of esteemed faculty members and students from the Department of Sociology, making it a truly engaging and reflective event.
